The X-mount lenses, fixed-focal and zoom, are all excellent. Among them, the FUJIFILM XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR high-zoom lens stands out with its wide zoom range. It’s the first X-series lens to have dust/drop-proof construction and it also employs powerful 5-stop image stabilization. Yes, Fujifilm makes no compromise even in making a high-zoom lens! The quick AF lets you focus on shooting particularly with bodies like the X-T1. I’m sure that you’ll be convinced with the performance once you look at the samples below.

When going for a drive, you want to pick a lens like this because it takes care of most scenes with the wide coverage between 27mm and 206mm equivalent. It’s a pleasure to be able to zoom whenever we encounter a good scene.

I shot an old structure in a sake brewery. Thanks to the texture reproduction, I can clearly imagine that it has stood against wind and snow for a long time. I like the natural color reproduction without exaggeration.

The 5 stop image stabilization is extremely useful indoors. For this lens, the dark store lighting was bright enough to freeze the image completely.

I wanted to bite the curry as soon as it was served, but waited until I took this shot. Looking at the rising steam I almost smell the aroma of the spices!

At around 40mm using 1/25s shutter speed. I chose to go against the iron rule "1/focal length" because I wanted to cause the motion blur of the hand while freezing the grinder. It would have been very difficult without the 5-stop image stabilization.

I took a liberty of enjoying a drip coffee using the fresh ground beans! Coffee lovers overjoy the rising bean and aroma. And, the realistic rendition reminds me of the aroma.

The temperature was minus 25 degrees in Celsius. Compared to the awkward movement of my body, the lens kept working extremely smoothly to capture the dignified air of the midwinter.

I found this lens extremely convenient for going on a short trip. As the sample images show, it takes exceptionally high quality images and lets you shoot most scenes without changing lenses. While everyone knows about the dramatic improvement of recent high-zoom lenses, the optical performance of this lens is ahead of the pack. Together with the expanding X-system, it will definitely show you a new world.
