FUJIFILM X20 / SHOOTING REPORT vol.1 vol.2

You grab a camera, put your favorite pair of shoes on, and open the front door. What is it like to be a camera you can grab naturally when you start a day? Even if you have high-performance equipment, you can carry them only when you don’t have other staff to carry. Because this camera is small and light enough to hang around your neck, you can grab it casually. Your heart also becomes lighter and you feel nice in the morning. On such day, let’s leave home a little early and go for a walk to find some signs of spring.

Even though it’s small-sized, it offers a nice handling. Yet it covers a wide range between 28 and 112mm (in 35mm equiv.). It’s fine to include the subject way in front with boldness. With a cellphone, you can’t do it.

The sensor is by no means large, but it delivers amazing sharpness. This is more than enough for a compact camera. Even though I shot against the sunlight, it maintains smooth tonality, while it still draws the subject with sharpness. If you like shooting against the sun, go ahead!

This close-up shot has a nice atmosphere. You can use the super-macro function at wide-end, but I recommend you to shoot close-ups at the tele-end in order to be loyal to the shape of subject. This way you can also create bokeh utilizing the thin focus.

Great capture of hairs and texture of cloth. This reality is produced by the great lens and the sensor with a resolving power. When I see these outputs, I even feel that I don’t have to carry a bulky camera anymore.

A piglet is sleeping in warm weather. In a picture, we sometimes discover things that we didn’t notice with our naked eyes. Did you ever know how pigs grows their hair?

Another appeal of this camera is the optical viewfinder. Just like many advanced photographers, I feel that it is easier to blend into the subject and become as one and feel more live. On the other hand, it’s easier to fine-compose with the LCD. This camera offers you a privilege of using the both.
